Mercedes Shows Off Its Historic Formula One Car CollectionMercedes took advantage of two popular automotive gatherings recently to show off its collection of historic Formula One cars. The crowds at both the Goodwood Festival of Speed and the Club Concours of the Royal Automobile Club were wowed by the racecars as they strutted their stuff for all to witness.
Builders of the original Eleanor Mustang are offering some genuine replicas.
For the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Mercedes trotted out five Silver Arrows from different decades of F1 to wow the crowds. Two of those did the 1.86-kilometer Hill Climb run, the W 196 R driven by Juan Miguel Fangio for the 1955 season and the Mercedes-AMG F1 W13 E Performance from the 2022 season.
Image via Mercedes-BenzAlso appearing at the festival was a W 196 S, W 125, W 194, and Group C racing prototype C 11. The automaker also brought a Mercedes-Benz racing car express transporter used in 1955. Since this year marks the 75th anniversary of Formula One, it was a fitting tribute to the premier racing series.
For the Club Concours of the Royal Automobile Club (RAC) Merecedes brought the W 196 S and W 196 R, both classics which fit in well with the event.
