Genuine Eleanor Mustang Replicas Selling For Half A Million

The Eleanor Mustang from Gone In 60 Seconds has made a lasting impression on the auto industry. While many will craft their own version of the movie car, which you’ll see at almost every large meet/show/auction in the US, the group which created the original is offering a limited run of what it calls The Ultimate Eleanor.

Jason Momoa helps a car crash victim.

Cinema Muscle Recreations LLC, has announced its Eleanor: Gone Again project which will result in a small group of special 1967 Ford Mustangs made to look like the movie muscle car. Because it’s 25 years since the movie came out, the production number is capped at 25 units.

That might also be because not too many will be lining up for these rides. After all, for half a million, you could buy some pretty impressive rides. While Eleanor is still some gearheads’ unicorn, for a lot of us the mystique of the pony car has worn off a little bit.

But there are still people around the world who go nuts for Eleanor. The promise of having one that not only looks authentic to the one in the movie, but that also packs some modern features will be compelling enough.

Because the production run is so limited and the vehicles are so exclusive, each buyer will enjoy a bespoke ordering process. In other words, you’ll be able to spec your Eleanor just the way you like it.

The order books are open and at least a few Ultimate Eleanors have been claimed already.

Of course, thanks to a new court decision, you can once again build your own Eleanor without fear of anyone claiming copyright and suing you into oblivion. That’s great news for anyone who doesn’t have half a million sitting around to drop on a pony car, which is the majority of us.
