Bare Bones Humvee Promises Outdoor FunFor us and many others, the dream of owning a decommissioned military Humvee like this one is real. Anyone who wants a plush ride with plenty of luxuries, electronics, etc. won’t like this rig one bit. But for us, it’s a fantasy we hope to one day live.
Even Batman owns a Humvee.
This Humvee is particularly interesting because it’s stripped to its bare bones. That’s not necessarily bad, but if you were expecting a roof, doors, and side mirrors, you’ll have to source those elsewhere.
However, this rig is being sold for just $7,500, so perhaps you can look past what isn’t present.
Speaking of that, the seller says this Humvee needs headlights and taillights. We view that as an opportunity since you can get some nice LED units and really make this vehicle shine.
In addition, this thing needs some cosmetic work done. Or you can just make that part of the aesthetic and foll with it.
Since this Humvee is stripped down, you can do all sorts of things with it. The thing is really a blank canvas you could keep that way (while adding mirrors and lights) or customize it just the way you like it.
This would make for an excellent overlander or a weekend getaway ride if you want to go far away from civilization.
Because this truck comes with the 6.2-liter diesel (not with a turbo) it should run well and be rather durable. We know some off-roaders really prefer that engine for a few reasons. You could engine swap this thing or keep that mill.
