At the end of Thunderbolts*, the titular team and Pullman’s Bob were rebranded as the New Avengers by Fontaine, much to the confusion of the general public. Doomsday will also bring back six actors from 20th Century Fox’s X-Men franchise: Kelsey Grammer, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, and James Marsden. Grammer and Stewart had previously already returned to their respective X-Men roles as Beast and Professor X in The Marvels and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, while Doomsday will mark the first time fans have seen McKellen’s Magneto, Cumming’s Nightcrawler, Romijn’s Mystique, and Marsden’s Cyclops in the MCU.
