The Grammy-winning artist and son of legend Willie Nelson, 36, announced that he would be embarking on the American Romance tour this fall to commemorate the release of his debut solo album.

Nelson will perform in cities like Chicago, Nashville, Austin, Washington D.C. and more throughout the fall, with plans to announce more shows across the West Coast. The tour will also feature special guest performances from artists like Stephen Wilson Jr., The Band Loula and Laci Kaye Booth on select dates throughout the tour.

In a press release for American Romance, which was released back in June, Nelson called the debut solo project "the first chapter in a whole new era of my life as an artist."

"It’s a love story to the country that raised me," he continued. "Diners and highways that carried me through the joy and pain that led to the music you hear now.”

In an interview with PEOPLE Magazine back in June, Nelson opened up about wanting to "stay true to what I do" in this project and that he intended on making an album that's "relevant to my own generation and to who I want to be artistically."

"I feel like I've never been able to, when people ask me where I grew up, I've never really been able to say one thing," he added while he talked about growing up in so many different parts of America. "[The album is] a love letter. It's a story of pain and loss and heartbreak. It's my personal relationship with the people and the landscape of this country."
