When golfer Bryson DeChambeau captured his first win on the LIV Golf tour, he thanked his family.

“I can’t thank my dad for all he taught me, my mom for all she taught me, my brother,” he said. “Everybody. It was just amazing what I was able to do today and I’m super excited. Couldn’t have done it without all of them.” His father, Jon, had passed away a year earlier, and Bryson got emotional talking about him. “He was with me out there all day today. No doubt. It’s been almost a year, and it’s been a really difficult couple of years, but doing it this way and finishing out with a 58 or something like that. It’s all glory to God and glory to him upstairs,” Byrson said.

He added, “I love you, mom. You are the best person that I could have ever imagine parenting me and teaching me all the life lessons growing up, but I couldn’t imagine anyone else. I love you, mom.” As he looks to capture his first Open title, get to know Bryson DeChambeau's family:

“Love you, Dad. I’m sad to see you go, but you’ve been through way too much pain in this life. I’m so happy you are at peace. Now you get to be with me and watch me at every event I play. Thank you for being an amazing Dad and I’ll see you in the next life,” Bryson posted on Instagram.

Per NBC Sports, “Jon DeChambeau battled diabetes for years after being diagnosed in the early 1990s. The disease caused both of his kidneys to fail by 2014, but through Bryson’s victory at the 2015 U.S. Amateur, he was reconnected with a high-school golf teammate, who ultimately donated a kidney to Jon in March 2017.”

He was able to attend his son's Masters debut in 2016. “He hasn’t seen a golf tournament since the U.S. Amateur, and he was flown out for that only for a day to watch the [championship] match,” Bryson said in Augusta that week. “Before that, he hasn’t been able to see me play, quite honestly, at all, through college or nothing. But for him to be here for this moment, it’s special. And it chokes me up.”

Bryson DeChambeau's mom, Jan DeChambeau (née Drufell)

Per her official bio, “Janet DeChambeau has worked in the sales industry for over 45 years. Most recently for the Serta Simmons Mattress Company where she enjoyed working for over 35 years as a sales rep/territory manager in Central California. Retiring from the furniture industry in April of 2023 she yearned to enter a new chapter in sales, deciding to "rewire" in the real estate industry. She is just getting started in real estate but has always been at the top of her organization in sales, earning Presidents Club status multiple times.”

The bio continues, “You might recognize the last name. Yes, she is the mother of Bryson DeChambeau. And if you don't recognize it, that's ok. He is a professional golfer residing in the greater Dallas area since attending SMU in 2012. Currently Janet is living in Clovis, Ca., a California native. But commute time for her to Dallas is probably quicker than driving from Los Angeles to San Diego! She also has an older son and three grandchildren that reside in California. Her plan is to eventually reside in the Dallas area, hoping to relocate all family members. She enjoys singing on her worship team at church and loves to play golf as well. But she would admit that Bryson's talents as a golfer genuinely came from his dad. Her guiding mantra is one that has always been near and dear to her heart. 'People don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care.' Janet truly has a mission to help her clients achieve their dreams.”

Bryson DeChambeau's brother, Garrett Wolford

Bryson has one sibling, older brother Garrett. He keeps a low profile, but according to his mom, he has three children.
