General Hospital’s Kirsten Storm Announces Extended Break as Maxie, ‘Incredible’ Storyline in Her Absence

General Hospital vet Kirsten Storms is taking an extended, months-long break from the role of Maxie, as she relocates homes from Los Angeles, Calif. to Tennessee.
In fact, she has already taped her final scenes of 2025.

Storms shared the news in an Instagram video that, she joked, was her “longwindedly explaining that I’m taking a break and moving to Tennessee.”

Storms explains in the video that she spoke with GH boss Frank Valentini back in March “about my reasons for wanting to move — and my desire to not leave the show” but instead return to the role of Maxie once she and her 11-year-old daughter Harper are settled in in Tennessee.
“Now, when you approach a job like this, they can always be like, ‘Forget it, I will let you out of your contract if you’re going to leave the state,'” she notes. “GH did not do that, which was kind of amazing, because I also asked for some time off.”
Storms says that in late June, “I had my final taping day for the year,” though “it’s possible I will be back in December, maybe November,” to resume the role of Maxie.

I can’t wait to see the comments online about that!”
