Released on October 26, 2023, in early access, Ark: Survival Ascended is quickly approaching its second anniversary. Thus far, reception for Ark: Survival Ascended has been mixed in its early access period, with many Steam users having problems with the MMO survival crafting game's performance on PC and "pay to win" DLCs. However, the steady flow of updates and content has kept many players coming back for more. On June 20, developer Studio Wildcard released the free Ark: Ragnarok Ascended expansion, which added a vast Norse-inspired map that spans 144 square kilometers. The DLC offers various new biomes and locales to explore, but it has caused its fair share of problems, leading to its "Mixed" overall review rating on Steam as well.
